Where would you like to start?

Quantitative Comparison

Compare two quantities using only the stated conditions. Test an allowed fraction or a boundary value before assuming the relationship is fixed.

Read worked QC questions and explanations

Worked example: does squaring make a positive number larger?

Original practice example. Given x > 0, compare Quantity A: x² with Quantity B: x.

  • At x = 2, Quantity A is greater: 4 > 2.
  • At x = ½, Quantity B is greater: ¼ < ½.
  • At x = 1, the quantities are equal.

Answer: D — the relationship cannot be determined. Both an integer and a fraction satisfy the condition, yet give different relationships. Two different permitted relationships already establish D; one example cannot establish a universal comparison.

Only test values the question allows. A few matching examples do not prove a relationship always holds; use the constraints or algebra to justify A, B or C.

A ten-minute practice slot alongside your course

  1. Two minutes: revisit one error from your last session and name the mistake.
  2. Five minutes: attempt a small timed set on that topic, within your available practice allowance.
  3. Three minutes: work through the explanation and write down why the tempting wrong answer fails.

This is a suggested routine, not a score-improvement claim. If the concept itself is unfamiliar, study an untimed explanation first. For a longer schedule, see the GRE study plan.

What is free, and where does Pro fit?

The shared daily challenge is free and needs no account. Extra topic practice has a daily allowance; the app shows your remaining practice before you start. Optional sign-in keeps your progress across devices. Quant Daily Pro adds unlimited topic practice. Check the current allowance and prices in the app before choosing a plan.

Quant Daily is independent supplementary practice. It does not provide a complete exam course, an official mock test, Verbal preparation or a score guarantee. Keep your course or official preparation materials for learning the syllabus, and use these drills to practise a specific skill.
